Welcome to Senior Infants 2021/2022
The children in Senior Infants learn through lots of fun activities everyday at River Valley Community National School. It is so important that the children are active participants in their own learning. All of our lessons are child centred and relevant to the children’s lives.
The Super Hero Cycle

Senior Infants participated in the Super Hero Cycle this year. Together our school raised €193 for Laura Lynn-Irish Children’s Hospice.

Our Art Gallery!
Check out our Colour Wheel Caterpillar!
The boys and girls in Senior Infants have been working very hard to create beautiful art work for our classroom.
We created a Colour Wheel caterpillar using Red, Blue and Yellow.
Red and yellow makes orange and blue and red makes purple. Can you remember what blue and yellow make?
Have a look at our colour wheel caterpillar. You might be able to see your own colour wheel!
We made monsters!
We constructed monsters from coloured paper. We gave our monsters eyes, a nose and a mouth.
Then we folded paper and gave our monster very long legs. Most importantly we gave our monsters a monster ROAR!
We had great fun.

We change our Aistear Theme in Senior Infants every fortnight. Every child works at a new play station each day.
Check out our Aistear Blog with some of the Aistear themes and their stations that we have explored so far.

Welcome to River Valley
Community National School!

Welcome to River Valley Community National School! We opened in September 2019 under the patronage of Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board (DDLTB) as a Community National School.
As Principal of River Valley Community School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school website. I hope our website will provide useful and current information for both current and prospective students and their families, for our school staff and the wider River Valley and Swords community.
River Valley CNS is dedicated to the holistic development of every child through the use of high quality, future-focused teaching and learning approaches which strive to develop each individual’s academic, social, moral, emotional, spiritual and creative capabilities. We are committed to the core values of respect, inclusion, equality and fairness, where diversity of belief, language, cultures, traditions and views are not only acknowledged but celebrated.
Our school motto is “partners in learning.” A core value of River Valley CNS is partnership, where staff, parents and members of the wider community work together to enable all of our students reach their full potential in an educational environment which is welcoming, child-centred, stimulating, future-focused, wholly inclusive and reflective of a diverse 21st century Ireland.
